[it's a few days after the trial that Akira finally seeks Guy out again, finding him lingering near the petting zoo like many are this week because animals are great therapy. he approaches, folding his arms and leaning them against the fence before he nods his head in Guy's direction]

[Why this place has potbelly pigs is a mystery, but Guy actually seems remarkably comfortable with them, taking a break from feeding them and resiging himself to scratching one that has rolled over onto its side like a dog. It's not quite what he's used to, but the mannerisms sure are the same.]

Hm? [Oh, it's Phantom Thief himself. He'll pat the pig heartily before lifting up to his feet, dusting his hands off.] Hey, Akira. Sure, what's on your mind?

[wait]

That-- uh. that came out wrong. [crap] I wanted to see how you were. . . holding up.

[huffs a bit indignantly!! but he relaxes a bit as his fingers dip into his pockets]

And maybe a little. [a pause] . . . this week has been a lot.

Yeah. Kind of an understatement.

[He'll lean up against the fencing for the pen, arms folded.]

I know no one's in the mood to talk about it, but I feel we missed something important during that trial. Something really wasn't adding up.

Did you see the notes from the Directors?

[survivaltricks]

. . . yeah. I think we did, too. I had a realization while I was talking to Magnus, but even then I'm not sure if it's the truth.

[he tilts his head a bit, brow raised]

And I did. What about them?

[menially]

[He shrugs easily, taking a moment to fidget with one of his gloves.] Just wondering what you thought of it. The idea of residuals and everything, and about what they claim is at stake. It's not all new information, but having it in one place and confirmed is a different story.

... Magnus was checking the stars, right? Do you think you figured something out?

[survivaltricks]

Mmm. . . [his gaze grows distant. pensive] I don't really know what to think about it, honestly. They've all been telling me the same thing, so I'm not surprised they eventually made an FAQ about it. I just. . .

[. . . he shrugs]

I wish there was-- or feel like there should be-- more to it.

[as for the second part?]

And Magnus said the wishing start thing didn't turn up any results. My theory doesn't have to do with the stars, but with the footprints themselves. Assuming they were real evidence.

Yeah. I get that feeling, too. Maybe it's paranoia at this point, but I think we're all just sick of surprises, even if we expect them now.

Did anyone clarify if a power was used to affect the evidence?

Not that I recall. Or if they tried, the directors couldn't answer.

Mm. Maybe it would be something to poke around about, now that the trial is over. Unless you think there could be clues elsewhere.

I wish we had more of a motive on why he was targetted, if any.

You saw what the directors wrote about what happens if no one dies, right?

...Yeah. If no one dies, then the game is forfeit. We all lose. [They all die.]

[his expression falls]

I wonder if whoever killed Yu knew that?

[menially]

...You mean that maybe they learned it had to happen and just didn't share with the rest of us?

Why Yu, then?

A crime of opportunity? There might not have been any rhyme or reason for it at all.

[His expression darkens.]

Yeah. Guess that happens sometimes.

Hopefully people won't start trying to weed out more from Heart's team. They've lost two now, right?

[he feels that expression, bro. he really does]

. . . Winter lost one, but the numbers being what they are mean that Heart and Winter have the same amount of people.

Shadows is the team that's ahead of everyone else. [a pause] . . . and I think they've got a few go-getters on their team, because I'm pretty sure they've won two weeks in a row.

What makes you say that? They're not exactly announcing it anywhere.

Kidding. I've asked around, and that's the conclusion I've come to. A few people have shared their teams with me, so. . .

[a shrug]

I hope you're careful with that information.

Including you, I've only talked to three people about it.

But I doubt I'm the only one who knows.

[he is confident he is, but. . . well. he won't discount him getting some bad information somewhere]
