It was a risk on Taako's part, but they revealed that there are certain people tasked with additional rules in this game. Winter clarified it for me yesterday - they're specialized roles, and they can be punished for breaking their silence. We have a couple of them here, but their limitations haven't changed.

[He tightens his hand against Yin Yu's. There's a sudden flair of anger, a bubbling up from that emotional sea that turns the stomach with an icy grip, before he shoves it right back, leaving as blank a slate as he can.]
"Loose lips sink ships" is what the voice said, right before execution. The dice made to choose weapons had all of the higher numbers blurred out.
[ and for this first time, guy's going to feel a rush of clear, unblocked emotion.
he's going to feel fear. it is so bone deep and dark that it rattles intensely, like a monster lurking in the depth. his heart stops, because there is nothing more terrifying than those six words.
yin yu had prepared himself for worst case scenarios when he'd woken up. when he remembered everything - when he didn't see lili an standing here - he thought that perhaps they had been successful. whether they had chosen to catch yasusada and execute him or someone else hadn't mattered; just as long as they were able to use the trap he laid to get some information, it was worth it. he knew logically lili would have a way out. he knew, logically, it would be okay.
he never once thought of the idea that it would be flayn to be the one to execute him.
the fear spirals off into anxiety, into guilt. he wasn't there to protect her. he wasn't there to keep her safe. yin yu had made flayn a promise (and he'd broken it) and he'd made himself one (he'd broken that too). he'd do everything in his power to keep her safe, and the minute he disappeared, it -
he inhales. sharp, surprised. loose lips sink ships: was it his fault? what did she say? what did she do? what did yasusada do - was she hurt, was she suffering? the anxiety takes over for the guilt, again, the terror. he knows she's not here but-
but if flayn was here, that meant that yasusada could have caused her such tremendous pain. that she could be hurt, badly, that she had to mentally deal with it (and flayn is so strong but she didn't deserve that, she didn't deserve this place)
how cruel he was to not only leave her be, but to make her be the one to play executioner for a killer that took out him?
his voice doesn't shake, but there's no question mark at the end of his statement, either. ] What happened. Tell me everything. [ the tiniest pause, and then, with a hint more desperation, which is a lot, for someone like him. ] Please.
