From what I understand, small groups of people were able to understand different parts of the message. Chuuya, Dazai and Takko recognized the first voice. I don't know who-- if anyone-- recognized the second.
And the entire group from the mansion recognized the third.
Not all of them. The ones I did talk to were pretty adamant that this wasn't going to happen, to the point of one of them demanding promises to subdue if things went wrong, not kill.
I also can't help but think of something I was told on the bus. Did you meet Jack through that board on the bar at all?
I don't know about us. But I wonder about our hosts.
It came up while talking about them, when I asked about what they remembered about previous journeys. That they have changed before based on what is needed.
Nah, just about Jack themselves. Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I didn't think anything of it right away, with how suddenly everything happened. Now that our situation is a little more complicated, I wouldn't be surprised if it extended to more than just that one instance.
Might be a long shot, but maybe it might be the reason we can't exactly see what any of them look like. Jack was a bus because they needed to be a bus. Maybe what our hosts are supposed to be hasn't been firmly decided yet. Like a constant, whose identity morphs with the environment.
[He'll shrug, though, glancing at his water bottle in thought.]
Not that we can really confirm anything right now. But it might be something to look into later.
Yeah. Jack mentioned that they'd taken many other forms before, both physically and in the sense of a reincarnation, but that most forms they ever had were created with the purpose of helping. "I am whoever and whatever is needed", is how they put it. Part of it was confirmed to be based on circumstance, but they said it was complicated to explain.
[there was a lot that poor vehicle couldn't explain, but i mean, communicating via magic alphabet board must really suck]
Considering that Jack said they would be nearby even after they left, I'd be curious on the Directors' ties to them, as well as what they know about that weird character that was running around before. Either way... I'm sure there's only so much they'll be able to say.
Only so much guesswork we can do for that. But if there's something bigger at play, then I'm sure it's going to show itself tomorrow. All we can do is pay attention and plan from there, right?
As long as that anger of yours is going to the right place, I won't argue with what you're feeling. I figure you're smart enough to be careful.
Just don't lose yourself too much to whatever this place is pulling. You've got a good fire to you, one that I think a lot of people will need to see. It'd be a shame to see it fizzle over manipulations than to actually burn for something more worthwhile.
[He'll nod, apparently satisfied with that answer.]
No lasting good comes from anyone throwing away their life. If you want change, then you fight. You show just how much your life is worth keeping, and how much you matter to the people around you, by doing everything you can to stay alive.

That audio was completely garbled -- how in the world did you recognize any of that?
no subject
I don't know.
[???]

[unless that's just a random phrase that Akira likes to shout to the clouds]
Did you all know that person from the mansion?
no subject
I knew him from before the mansion.
[aha]
But he was in the mansion with us, yes.
no subject
Did he normally make those kind of announcements, or was he just a participant like you?
no subject
[aha]
This isn't like him. It isn't like him at all.
no subject
[His jaw sets.]
Were you able to talk to any of the Directors in depth this week?
no subject
I was, though I asked them more about themselves than I did the camp.
Did you speak to them, too?
no subject
I also can't help but think of something I was told on the bus. Did you meet Jack through that board on the bar at all?
no subject
[even now. . . ?]
And of course I talked to Jack. I named them.
no subject
...
Did they mention reincarnation?
no subject
No? Reincarnation for who? Us?

It came up while talking about them, when I asked about what they remembered about previous journeys. That they have changed before based on what is needed.

[huh. . .]
. . . we do know this world is easily affected by outside forces. That's why so many things changed when we were brought in.

That's not a bad theory. This world is sort of. . . [waggles a hand back and forth] Not amorphous, but it's flexible and adaptive too, isn't it?
[or so he has come to understand]
I plan on asking them more about the world when I have the chance. I want to understand more about how it works.
About how we've affected it just by being here.

We'll have to see what happens tomorrow.
no subject
If they're only allowed to say so much, then. . .
I wonder what's restraining them? If something is?
no subject
...
[bops him again with his water bottle]
You seem like you've calmed down a little.
no subject
Have I? [hn] I guess this entire conversation distracted me a bit.
no subject
[A bit of a cheeky grin, before it softens.]

I haven't burned out yet. No summer camp of hell and horrors is going to extinguish that flame now.
[and the way he says that? is extremely determined]
no subject
[smash cut to evan getting aquainted with a Rock in about 48 hours]
That means keeping yourself alive, too.
no subject
I know.
[he says as he breathes out a sharp exhale]
I have someone I need to return home to at all costs. Pointless sacrifices are. . . [and here, he makes a face] They're stupid, anyway.
So I don't intend on doing anything that would risk my life unnecessarily.

That's all there is to it.
